A new feature available on the county's Web site will allow Mendocino County voters to see if the Elections Department has received their voted ballot.
Susan Ranochak, Mendocino County Assessor/County Clerk/Recorder, announced the site on Friday and stated that it would be accessible at www.co.mendocino.ca.us by clicking "Depts." on the top of the home page, clicking "Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder" on the left side of the page, then selecting "Elections" and then "Vote By Mail (Absentee) Status."
After that, voters will be required to fill in their first and last names, address, zip code and date of birth. Once voters finish this step and click "perform search" the engine will look for the exact criteria specified and will be updated daily.
The county clerk's office can be reached by phone at 463-4371.
Rob Burgess can be reached at udjrb@pacific.net.
